Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Monarch Hoard (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who We Are

Monarch Hoard is a personal, non-commercial hobby project created and operated by Roberto Terzoli, based in Italy. It is a collection-tracking tool for physical trading cards, allowing users to record which cards they own, manage a wishlist, view collection statistics and play a couple of small companion mini-games.

2. Not an Official Product - Trademark Disclaimer

Monarch Hoard is an unofficial, fan-made tool. Card names, card images, set names, and any related trademarks or copyrighted material displayed within the Service belong to their respective rights holders and are used solely for the purpose of helping users catalogue their own physical card collections (a purely descriptive, non-commercial use). Monarch Hoard is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the publisher(s) or rights holder(s) of the trading card game(s) represented in the app.

If you are a rights holder and have concerns about any content displayed in the Service, please contact us at the email address below and we will address the matter promptly.

3. Eligibility and Account Registration

• You must be at least 14 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you should have the consent of a parent or guardian.
• You must provide a valid email address and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• One account per person. Accounts are personal and may not be sold, transferred, or shared.
• You agree to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts, the database, or the underlying systems;
• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract data from the Service through automated means;
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service (e.g. abusive automated requests);
• Upload, submit, or store notes/content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, or infringes on the rights of others;
• Impersonate another person or use an offensive display name.

We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules, at our reasonable discretion.

5. Your Content

Some features let you add personal content, such as notes on individual cards or a display name. You remain responsible for this content. By submitting it, you grant us the limited right to store and display it back to you (and, in the case of your display name, on public in-app leaderboards) solely to operate the Service. We do not claim ownership of your personal notes.

6. Public Leaderboards

The Memory and Quiz mini-games include leaderboards visible to other users of the Service. Your chosen display name (not your email address) and your scores may appear there. You can change your display name at any time in Settings.

7. Service Availability and Changes

Monarch Hoard is an actively evolving hobby project. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability of the Service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice, including during maintenance or migrations (e.g. hosting/database changes).

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be free of bugs, data loss, or downtime.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Monarch Hoard and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data (including your collection data), arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Italian or EU law (e.g. liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence).

10. Account Suspension and Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone: this permanently erases your collection data and anonymises your account, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our reasonable discretion, after considering the severity of the violation.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect new features. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The date of the last update is shown below.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Italian law. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent Italian courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection provisions applicable in your country of residence, if you qualify as a consumer under EU law.
